our Wedding on Bainbridge Island - A Hidden "Island Wedding Gem" in Washington State

In the Pacific Northwest, there is a "hidden wedding gem" just waiting to be discovered by engaged couples seeking a unique and gorgeous venue/location for their wedding ceremony and celebration.

Bainbridge Island, Washington is a unique bedroom community of Seattle and a short 30-minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle. As a wedding professional in the Pacific Northwest, I live on this Island and in the past decade, this area has become a mini-wedding mecca for couples seeking a Northwest wedding day with Island style.

Let me tell you a little about Bainbridge Island why it is such a spectacular and hidden place for a wedding ceremony and celebration:

An Island Location With Bridge Access ~ While Bainbridge Island is a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle, it is an island with 20,000+ residents, lots of contemporary amenities, unparalleled waterfront locations and parks and a car bridge to Kitsap County which offers a big variety of stores and services.

Bainbridge Island is a perfect location for a small to medium size wedding (2 to 150 guests) and also has several hotels that make it easy for family and friends to stay on the Island. In addition to a number of hotels, there are a myriad of bed and breakfasts all over the Island and some offer 'on-site wedding" packages. For more information on venues and locations on Bainbridge Island, contact the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce.

Local Island Flavors and Wineries ~ This small community has organic farms that provide fresh produce and foods to local restaurant and caterers. The Island also boasts a number of local wineries that can provide couples with an eclectic selection of wine and spirits for a wedding party/reception. If you prefer to host your wedding at a local restaurant, the Island has several celebration restaurants that welcome weddings. Restaurants are easy to find through an internet search or calling the Kitsap County Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Waterfront Parks and Waterside Venues ~ One of the best things about this Northwest location? The spectacular water views of Seattle, Island ferries and water traffic. The Bainbridge Parks and Recreation Department offers couples the opportunity to have their wedding at a number of favorite Island parks including Fort Ward Park and Faye Bainbridge Park.

Access To Big City Services ~ Because Bainbridge Island is just a hop and skip from downtown Seattle, having your wedding "island style" gives you access to big city wedding vendors, products and services. Photographers, florists, hair/make-up people and more frequently make the ferry trip to Bainbridge Island for weddings and other special events.
